Rigs & Reggae

Code of Conduct

Rigs & Reggae is built around music, adventure, creativity, and community. We want everyone to feel safe, welcome, and respected throughout the weekend. By attending, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct.

Respect Everyone

Treat fellow attendees, performers, vendors, volunteers, staff, and members of the Astoria community with kindness and respect. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, bullying, unwanted physical contact, or threatening behavior will not be tolerated.

This applies regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion, appearance, lifestyle, or rig type. Consent matters—always ask before touching another person, entering someone’s campsite or rig, or photographing them up close.

Be a Good Neighbor

Pier 39 and the surrounding Astoria community are welcoming us into their space. Please:

  • Respect nearby residents, businesses, property, and posted boundaries.

  • Keep music and noise at a reasonable level outside scheduled event hours.

  • Follow instructions from event staff, volunteers, security, and venue personnel.

  • Leave all shared spaces cleaner than you found them.

Camp and Rig Responsibly

Drive slowly and carefully throughout the event grounds. Watch for pedestrians, children, pets, equipment, and other rigs. Once parked, please remain within your assigned space and keep roadways, emergency lanes, and access points clear.

Do not enter another person’s campsite, vehicle, or personal space without permission. Secure awnings, tents, decorations, and other outdoor gear, especially during windy conditions.

Waterfront Safety

Pier 39 is an active waterfront environment. Stay aware of uneven surfaces, dock edges, water, weather, and changing conditions. Children must be supervised at all times near the waterfront. Never enter restricted areas, climb barriers, or interfere with marina and commercial operations.

Alcohol and Substance Use

If you choose to drink, please do so responsibly. Alcohol may only be consumed by guests who are 21 or older and must remain within permitted event areas. Never drive while impaired.

Illegal substances, dangerous behavior, and disorderly conduct are prohibited. Anyone whose behavior creates a risk to themselves or others may be asked to leave.

Pets

Pets must remain leashed and under control at all times. Please clean up after them and be considerate of guests, other animals, performers, and vendors. Owners are responsible for their pets’ behavior, safety, and comfort. Aggressive or disruptive animals may be required to leave the event.

Keep It Clean

Help us take care of the pier and the Oregon Coast. Use designated trash and recycling areas, clean up your campsite, and pack out anything that does not fit in the provided receptacles. Do not dump wastewater, fuel, oil, food, or other materials on the event grounds or into the water.

Prohibited Behavior

The following may result in immediate removal from the event:

  • Harassment, discrimination, threats, or violence

  • Unwanted sexual attention or physical contact

  • Possession of illegal substances

  • Reckless driving or operating a vehicle while impaired

  • Theft, vandalism, or intentional property damage

  • Entering restricted or private areas

  • Possession or use of weapons in violation of event rules or applicable law

  • Repeated refusal to follow staff or venue instructions

  • Any behavior that threatens the safety or enjoyment of others

Reporting a Concern

If you experience or witness unsafe, inappropriate, or concerning behavior, please notify a Rigs & Reggae staff member or volunteer immediately. Reports will be handled as respectfully and discreetly as possible.

If there is an immediate threat or medical emergency, call 911 first and then alert event staff.

Enforcement

Rigs & Reggae organizers reserve the right to address any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct or puts others at risk. Depending on the circumstances, a participant may receive a warning or be removed from the event without a refund. Serious incidents may be reported to venue management or local authorities.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, welcoming, and unforgettable weekend of rigs, reggae, and good vibes on the pier. 🌊🚐🎶
